TERMS and CONDITIONSINDEXAir Shipment and Balance of PaymentDogs are shipped from Boise, Idaho by as direct flight as possible. We have had great success with Delta, especially Delta Dash - counter to counter, guaranteed service. Delta Dash is a prepaid service and is not available as a COD service, therefore, if it is possible to ship your pup to the airport of your choice via Delta Dash, you will be asked to include the Delta Dash charges along with the balance of payment for your pup - otherwise, if possible, pups will be sent freight collect. We will contact you with the additional charges. We can also ship by Horizon/Alaska or Northwest if you are in an area that is not served by Delta or if the charges to your area are less on one of these other carriers. The balance of payment for your pup and the additional shipping charges will be due a minimum of 7 days before the date of shipping. Due to our distance from the airport and time constraints, we ship all pups on the same day. We will contact you with the date that your pup will be shipped and flight information at least 2-3 days before shipping. If you can't take the pup on that day, we will try to ship the pup on any day of your choosing but there will be an additional charge of $50.00. We would prefer not to ship pups on the weekend due to the heavier volume of travelers and both air and ground traffic. Dogs are shipped by commercial airlines in climate-controlled and pressurized compartments. Dogs arrive on the same day as shipped. Northern Flight Retrievers supplies the following with each puppy:
Our customers are required to pay the airline freight charges, insurance on the dog, and return the shipping crate to our kennel, insured via a ground carrier. Health certificate and health records including shots and worming schedule are sent along with the pup on the outside of the crate. The AKC registration papers are sent by U.S. Post Office regular mail as soon as the shipping crate is returned. We have found that airlines will occasionally put a moratorium on shipping animals if the departure or arrival temperatures are excessively hot or excessively cold. We have also had them refuse to ship if there is any chance of delay at a plane-change airport. These delays can be caused by fog, bad weather or possible bad connections. Our experience is that the local (Boise) shipping agents try to work with us as best as possible, even going so far as to call us at the last minute if conditions change. Any delays or restrictions are in the best interest of your pet and the airlines' liability. GuaranteesThere is always a great demand for Northern Flight Chesapeake pups. All of our breeding stock is checked and certified to be free of genetically inherited hip and eye disease. As explained in the section entitled Northern Flight's Breeding Program -- Selecting Breeding Stock, we will not breed any dog that cannot get an OFA number or preliminary hip radiograph that shows no sign of hip displaysia. We will not breed any dog that cannot get a CERF certification showing no signs of inherited eye disorders. We also will not breed any dog who shows signs of entropion or ectropion eyelids, undershot or overshot bite or undescended testicles. Furthermore, any dog which shows signs of temperament irregularities is strictly eliminated from our breeding program. We want our prospective customers to feel that the Chesapeake pups that they get from Northern Flight Retrievers will be of unmatched quality. We feel confident that our breedings are exceptional and well researched. We want our customers to feel the same confidence. The general health of all puppies purchased from Northern Flight Retrievers is guaranteed for a period of two weeks after receipt of the dog from our kennel. This, of course, does not include any accidents or negligence on the part of the purchaser, which may befall the pup during this period. Further, Northern Flight Retrievers will guarantee that the dog upon reaching its second birthday, will be capable of receiving an OFA certification. This warranty expires when the pup is 28 months of age. Thus, the owner has a 4-month period of time in which to have the pup x-rayed and the x-ray evaluated by the OFA. We will only replace dogs one time for hips. No dog will be replaced without an evaluation by the OFA. Also please note, hip warranty is not transferable and we will not guarantee hips if the dog has been bred before 2 years of age. This is not to say that you cannot breed your dog before it's second birthday, just that you need to have the dog x-rayed and be sure to have OFA certifiable hips before breeding. We will not replace a dog for bad hips if it has been bred. We will guarantee that any pup purchased from Northern Flight Retrievers will be capable of receiving a CERF certification at one year of age. This warranty expires at 18 months of age. The owner has a 6-month period of time in which to have the dog's eyes examined by a board certified canine opthamologist and the results sent to CERF. We do not warranty the temperament of our pups. Temperament can be affected by both genetics and the environment in which the dog is raised. We have no control over the environment in which a dog is raised, therefore we can't guarantee the temperament. Please note: There are no other guarantees or warranties implied or intended unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by both Northern Flight Retrievers and the customer. The above written guarantees are not transferable to a new owner. Our warranty is a replacement puppy warranty and not a money back warranty. We do not refund money on replacement pups. Dogs being returned for replacement must be received at Northern Flight Retrievers' kennel in good shape with all transportation expenses paid by the customer. The replacement puppy will be of equal quality and shipping will be the responsibility of the customer. At Northern Flight Retrievers we strive to consistently produce quality. Since we only produce a few litters each year, we spend a great deal of research and consideration on each of our breedings. We do produce quality and we do it by attention to detail, documentation, an unwillingness to compromise our standards and unwavering confidence in our breedings. We want our prospective customers to feel confident that they are dealing with someone who is responsible. If you are considering a retriever pup of any breed or if you are planning to train your retriever, you need to read the information in "Retrievers ... From The Inside, Out" before you begin.
